Brides of Khine
The Hag Queens of Nagaroth

Hag Queens are the oldest, and most powerfull Which Elves in Nagaroth. They also lead the cult of the Bloody handed good. The head of the cult is Crone Helborn of Ghron -the North Tower. She is the oldest one of the Hag Queens- and the most powerfull. Each Shrine of Khaine has it's Exalted Mother, Keepre of Claudron, Guardian of Altar or as known by Elves of Uthulan Hag Queen. Therefore there is 6 known Hag Queens: Crone Hellborn of Ghrond, Vandess of Har Ganeth,
Nephli the Sea Witch of Clar Carond, Seraphine the Shadow of Hag Graef, Gorgatha of Karond Kar and Hag Sorceres Morathi. Helborn and Morathi both hate each other. Even though Crone is oficial head of the cult, Morathi is the Oldest Dark Elf in Nagaroth- and respect to her must be paid. Hag Sorceres has great power, and she often is more respected than Crone. Lady of Ghrond also is jelaus of Morathi's beauty- when she have to take a blood bath more often than once a year to regain her beauty- the soceress witch almost never uses the Claudron. Helborn also despises Morathis association with the cult of pleasure (Slanesh)- which as she sees it is a betrayal of the Khaine. All Hag Queens rivalize for power, and all hate each other. Sadly cannot fight openly, because they know that it would cause the end of the cult. Instead of duels, they use their assasins, and intrigues to kill, discredit or push aside the each other. Each of the mighty Hag Queens have a troup of her piupils- the lesser Hag Queens also called the Chosen Brides, from which one would be chosen when the time will come to take their place. In the meantime they use the young Witches as executers of their will.
The Six Sisters of Darknes (as they also are called) rarely leave the Shrines and go to battle. Instead they send Hag Queens loyal to them instead. Once a year (usualy last day of the year) the Six Hag Queens meet secretly together in the place called The Bare Mountine. This desolated place lies somewhere in Iron Mountines, but it's location is keept secret. There Hag Queens talk about the problems of the Cult, plan the things to do the next year, and worship Khine. This day they put aside all hate and animosity, and its said that they give themselves to Khaine. As the legend say, Bloody Handed Godd himself appears in the Iron Mountines to take part in the orgy on the Bare Mountine.
All Hag Queens are powerfull individuals, and none of them will take orders from other during the battle (even from one of the six.). Therefore you can have only one Hag Queen in your army. To use any of characters presented in this article you have to field at least one regiment of Whitch Elves.Below I present the profiles of the four of the Six Hag Queens of Nagaroth (Profiles and rules for Morathi and Hellborn you can find in the Dark Elf Army Book or The Forgotten Realm's Dark Elf Compendium):

Vandess of Har Ganeth

Nephli the Sea Witch of Clar Carond            200 points

Nephli, beter known as the Sea Witch is Hag queen of Clar Karond. Usualy her chamber in the Shrine of Khaine is empty, because she prefers more the open sea than the City walls. She is known to many sailors of the old world as a evil omen. When they see her shadow flayng through the air, they turn oround their ships. Not only this is a sign of Dark Elf fleet, but also a mesenger of storm. She mastered the art of controlling the winds, and using them for her own purpose. Often she likes to play trick on the sailors directing the winds to bring a ships to drift, or summoning gigantic storms.

Nephli can be your army general if you wish. She however is an individualist, and always choose her own way. She cannot be used if in the army is another Hag Queen.

Weapons/Armour: Nephli uses one long posioned sword, and the Staf of Storm. She wears no armour.
Magic Items: Nephli can carry 3 magic items. One of those will alwaus be Staff of Storm.
Special Rules: Sea Witch is subjected to all the rules for Witch Elves. Nephli can use her unique ability of controling winds to fly. Sadly when she uses this ability over the mainland, and is frenzy her powers are bit out of controll. In each turn roll scatter dice to see in what direction the wind blows. If you roll Hit there's no wind in this turn and Nephli cannot fly. In oter case she can fly up to 24" in direction showed by the arrow or make a 18" leep in any direction exept the oposite way to this shown by the arrow. Example: If the scatter dice shows, let's say, North- Nephli can fly up to 24" North, or jump 18" North-East, North-West, East and West. She can move only at the normal speed rate South, South-East and South-West.

Staff of Storm                    55 points
Legend says that Sea Witch stirrs the sea with her magicall staff to symmon gigantic storms. Indeed this staff has power of summoning the dark clouds. The boud spell can be cast in any Dark Elf magic phase. If cast succesfuly, it prevents all flyers from flying high. All flying high imidietly have to land on the ground. No flying is possible except for Sea Witch. All ground moving units loose 1" of speed. Such sittuation lasts to the next magic phase. If the spell will be succesfuly cast three times during the battle staff's power is exhausted, and you cannot use it again.

Seraphine the Shadow of Hag Graef            190 points

Seraphine is the youngest of the six Hag Queens. She became the Exalted Mother of Hag Graef recently, when former queen was assasinated. It was probably because Leuphritia (that was her name) was loyal to Mistress Hellborn. Some even say that those two were unholy lovers. Seraphine was young and tallented Chosen Bride was put on her place by Morathi. The second day she took over the position as the one of Six she broke contact with the Hag Sorceres becoming fully independent. Seraphine is beautifull, and smart. She proven her wits many times escaping the assasins, or dealing with difficult tasks while in service of Morathi. She is called Shadow of Hag Graef because nobody knows when or where she will apear. She likes to hunt down her enemies, chaising them on the streets of the city, and playing with their fear to finaly kill them without hesitation. She very rarely uses assasins, she likes to take care of her busines personaly. She always wears a cloak over her shoulders.

Seraphine can be your army general. You cannot use any other Hag Queens when you use Seraphine.

Magic Items: Seraphine can carry 3 magic items. Two of them will always be Black Swords of Shkabrach and Cloak of Darkness.
Special Rules: Seraphine is subjected to all rules for Witch Elves.
Clarification: Seraphine can lead unit of which elves unless she is invisible. In such case she hides in the unit not leeds it.

Black Swords of Shkabrach                    45 points
Those two magical swords have long black blades, from which slowly but constantly drips poisonus venom. Even slightest sratch with one of those blades is capable of killing instantly even such big creature as troll.
Bearer of those blades have S+1 modifier. In addition the pisonus venom will kill wounded creature instantly with no saves allowed if he rolls more than his T on D6.

The Cloak of Darkness                    50 points
Thanks to this cloak Seraphine the Shadow of Hag Graef can move swiftly and unprecived, to hunt down or spy on her enemies. Each one who wears this cloak can become ivisible on wish.
Bearer of this cloak, at any point of the game may declare becoming invisible (he can also do that before the battle). From this time the model cannot be charged or shoot at if it's not detected. To detect the cloaked model you have to roll below the detecting models initiative. In addition, only the models I" away (where I is their initiative) can attempt to detect the cloake bearer.

Gorgotha of Karond Kar            230 points

Gorgotha is most bizzare of the Six Hag Queens. The legend says that she in the old days committed some terrible sin against Khaine.God in anger cursed her. Now instead of hair on her head, she have snakes. Her skin is grey, and her bloody red eyes can turn one into stone. Only the blood of young Elves can restore her to her beauty- sadly only for few hours, after which she changes again ino a monster. She is one of the most feared Hag Queens no one even dares to mention her name in conversation. She herself rarely leaves the main chamber of Shrine of Karond Kar where she is surrounded by young slaves and servants. She tries to stay away from the ongoing quiet battle between Six Hag Queens (especialy from the constant quarel between Morathi and Hellborn) and politics. If she appears on the battlefield, it means that somethig realy important is happening.
Everywhere in the shrine and all oround it one can see stone statues. Those are the unfortunate ones who dared to look Gorgotha in the eyes. Dark Elves fer her more than the rest of the Hag Queens alltogether. However they rarely have chance to see her or hear about her- therefore often she's threated as a myth or legend.

Gorgotha stands no competition, and no one would dare to question her authority. Therefore she has to be your army general if you wish to use her. You cannot use other Hag Queens if Gorgotha is in your army. She feel's respect only to Malekith, so if you want to field him you can  use Gorgotha as a oridinary character.
